Bagjump Installations for January: A Strong Start to 2025
New year, new projects, and at Bagjump, we kicked off 2025 with some exciting installations across the world.
We are ready to bring new installations around the world, and January started with some great projects—from gymnastics facilities upgrading their foam pits to a Bagjump to the first installation of the year of a Jump & Slide in Turkey.
Here’s a look at some of the projects we worked on in January.
Athletes in Motion – California, USA
Project: Custom Inground Airpit
Type of facility: Gymnastics Gymnasium
One of our first installations this year took us to Athletes in Motion, a gymnastics gym looking to upgrade from a foam pit to a Bagjump Inground Airbag.
Their biggest challenge? Their training pit was flooding during the rainy season. This often led to athletes being unable to train for days. What exactly happened? Heavy rainfall and flooding overloaded the sump pumps, causing the foam cubes in the pit to deteriorate after being submerged in water. This created a “perfect storm” of debris, broken-down foam, chalk, dirt, and mildew, leading the customer to decide to replace the foam cubes with a much safer and healthier airpit system.
Beyond the mess, the foam cubes required frequent fluffing and cleaning, and as they began to break down and shift around the sump pumps, it became difficult for the pumps to remove the water quickly enough. Water buildup in the bottom of pits is a common issue we encounter, and this installation called for an innovative approach.
To solve this, we designed a unique two-layer airpit system. The bottom layer, a durable airbag, provided proper airflow and included cutouts for the blowers and drainage. This ensured the sump pumps could function effectively, removing water from the pit. The upper layer consisted of a larger airpit, designed to reduce impact forces on athletes while offering a much safer and healthier alternative to traditional foam pits.
As more and more facilities are encountering water-related issues in their pits, we’re also experimenting with elevated wood structures. In extreme cases, we can implement a two-layer airpit system, combining optimal airflow and efficient water removal pumping mechanisms, while still filling the pit with or patented airpit system.
Northern Lights Gymnastics – Vermont, USA
Project: Custom Inground Airpit
Type of facility: Gymnastics Gym
Some facilities have been using foam pits for decades, but we are observing a quick change happening. Northern Lights Gymnastics in Vermont is proof of that. Their foam pit from the ’90s had reached the end of its lifespan, and they decided to upgrade to an airbag for the first time. Not only that, but this is the first airbag for a gymnastics gym in this area—something super exciting for us.
This is a very important step forward. We notice how more gymnastics facilities and trampoline parks are recognizing the benefits of airbags over traditional foam pits. More hygienic, more cost-effective, and better performance. It’s only a matter of time until we see more airbags than foam pits at gyms.
Now, when it comes to the installation, we used two internal blowers to maintain constant air pressure and adjusted the fit of the airbag to their existing pit. We also reinforced the pit structure with additional wood construction to ensure maximum stability.
Northern Lights Gymnastics is now setting a new standard in the region, and we’re proud to be part of their journey!
Gymnastics Dreams – Michigan, USA
Project: Custom Inground Airpit
Type of facility: Gymnastics Gym
We always ensure that our airbags are performing at their best. This was the reason why we made a second warranty visit to Gymnastics Dreams, an installation we talked about back in November.
During our first installation, we noticed that the height of the airbag needed fine-tuning to perfectly match the training needs of the athletes. To address this, we swapped out the underbag to create a better balance and improve overall performance.
This time, we came back for a quick check, and as expected—everything is working perfectly!
Skilab – Turkey
Project: Double Tubing Landing Setup
Type of facility: Ski resort
This was probably the most exciting installation for us this year. Skilab wanted to upgrade their winter park with an attraction that could work all year round. They got in touch with us, and we jumped in on a project where everything was handled by us—from design to production and installation.
This full-scale park features a Double Tubing Landing setup and is one of the many Jump & Slide parks we have planned for this year. The entire facility was custom-built by Bagjump, and we are excited about the many more to come.
The Jump & Slide Park is rapidly growing in popularity. A year-round attraction featuring tubing slides, jump towers, and trampoline areas is a perfect choice for adventure parks and ski resorts.
As more parks around the world integrate this setup, we’re excited to see more locations bringing this experience to visitors.
These are only a few of the projects we take on each month. Here, we just wanted to show you the diversity of installations we can work on. From upgrading gymnastics facilities to enhancing adventure parks, we’re bringing Bagjump airbags to athletes and thrill-seekers worldwide. We can’t wait to visit your region and install a Bagjump at a facility near you.
If your facility is looking for a safer, more efficient way to train, play, or land—reach out to us!
