The single biggest event of the year for the US gymnastics industry. The USA Gymnastics National Congress and Trade Show is held every August in a rotating host city. In 2026 it takes place in Phoenix, Arizona, at the Phoenix Convention Center from August 7 to 9.

What makes National Congress different from the regional events is the mix. It combines the largest gymnastics trade show floor in the country with three days of educational sessions covering coaching, judging, business operations, mental performance, and safety. Coaches earn continuing education credits, judges attend recertification clinics, and gym owners walk the trade show floor to see what is new in equipment, apparel, and technology.

For gym owners, this is the event to attend if you attend only one. Every major equipment supplier is there, most of the leading educational programs run sessions, and it is the best place in the country to meet other owners at your level.

The Seven USA Gymnastics Regional Championships

USA Gymnastics divides the country into seven competitive regions, each with its own annual regional championships between June and August. These are competitive meets first, but they double as networking events for gym owners, coaches, and equipment suppliers.

Region 1: Arizona, California, Nevada, Utah

The largest region by athlete count and one of the most competitive. Region 1 championships typically happen in late summer, often in San Jose or another major California city. Strong turnout from West Coast gyms.

Region 2: Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington

The Pacific Northwest region. Smaller footprint than Region 1 but tight-knit gym community. Championships usually happen in Oregon or Washington.

Region 3: Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas

Region 3 covers a huge geographic area and includes some of the fastest-growing gymnastics markets in the country. Texas alone has hundreds of member gyms.

Region 4: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Wisconsin

The Midwest region. Championships often happen in Iowa or the Great Lakes area. Strong tradition of high-quality club programs.

Region 5: Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Tennessee, West Virginia

Region 5 is known for passionate gymnastics communities and consistent producing top athletes. Championships typically happen in Ohio.

Region 6: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont

The Mid-Atlantic region. Historically hosted in Virginia Beach or Baltimore. Check the Region 7 site for current dates.

Gymnastics Association of Texas (GAT)

O Gymnastics Association of Texas runs one of the largest state conferences in the country every Labor Day weekend in Austin. Over 700 coaches, owners, and industry professionals attend. NGA Championships and Events
